These terms apply when you use hilshobbies.com or buy from Uncanny Knick Knacks, a small handmade shop run by Hilary in Nevada. By placing an order you agree to them.

Handmade pieces

Every piece is made by hand, and most are one of a kind. Resin and handmade work can have small variations, such as tiny bubbles, swirls or slight differences in colour, and these are part of each piece's character. Colours can also look different on different screens. We photograph each piece as accurately as we can.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars. Payment is taken securely by Stripe at checkout, and your order is confirmed once payment goes through. Because pieces are one of a kind, a piece is held for you for 30 minutes while you check out. If something goes wrong, for example a pricing mistake or a piece selling at the same moment, we'll let you know and refund you in full.

Promo codes

Promo codes are entered at checkout. Only one code can be used per order. Codes have no cash value, can't be applied to past orders, and may have an expiry date or other conditions, which will be stated with the code.

Shipping

We currently ship within the United States only. Shipping is a flat rate per order: $5, or $12 if your order includes a chess set. Orders usually ship within 5 business days, and we'll email you when yours is on its way. If a package is lost or arrives damaged, contact us and we'll work with you and the carrier to put it right.

Returns and damaged items

Because each piece is handmade and one of a kind, all sales are final and we don't accept returns or exchanges. If your order arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, email [email protected] within 7 days of delivery with photos. We'll repair, replace or refund it.

Custom orders

A custom order starts with a request and a quote. Work begins once the quote is paid. Because the piece is made just for you, custom orders can't be cancelled or refunded once work has started, except where the finished piece is damaged or not as agreed. Completion dates are our best estimate, and we'll keep you updated if anything changes.

Pieces in partner shops

Some pieces are sold in person at partner shops. Those purchases are made with the shop and follow that shop's own policies.

Safety and care

Dice and chess pieces are small and can be a choking hazard. Keep them away from children under 3. Our pieces are for games and display and aren't food safe. Keep resin away from high heat and long periods of direct sunlight.

Our work

The designs, photos and text on this site belong to Uncanny Knick Knacks. Please don't reuse them without asking.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version shown when you place an order is the one that applies to it.
